Responding to the growth in Internet users, Arabic online News portals increase focus on online advertising.

New research from the Arab Advisors Group analyzes and compares the 2013 online advertising rates for nine online News portals targeting the Arab World. The selected portals include regional and international news content, in addition to business, financial, sports and entertainment content.

Arab Advisors Group's research revealed that three out of the nine analyzed News portals' rely solely on the ‘per CPM' billing method for their standard online ads, namely: Al Arabiya, Al Bawaba and BBC Arabic. Meanwhile, Al Manar, Ammon News, CNBC Arabia and Donia Al Watan portals adopt ‘time-based' billing. Two out of the nine analyzed portals - AME Info and Elaph- adopt both ‘per CPM' and ‘time-based' billing methods. The analysis reveals that AME Info had the highest average advertising rates among the five analyzed portals which adopt ‘per CPM' billing for their online ads; meanwhile, CNBC Arabia had the highest average advertising rates among the analyzed portals that adopt ‘time-based' billing.
