Gulf countries show a rise in Data Centers and an increase in services offered

A new report from the Arab Advisors Group provides an overview of data centers located within the GCC countries and their services. The research revealed that co-location services were the most common in the GCC region, offered by nearly all analyzed data centers.


The increasing adoption of Cloud Computing in almost all businesses has enhanced the focus on data center services. Hosting infrastructure at data centers' facilities can save the companies the hassle associated with the provision of power, cooling, security and infrastructure.


The Arab Advisors Group analyzed 25 data centers located in the GCC countries; Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The research revealed that co-location services were the most common among the data centers analyzed, as they were offered by 24 data centers, followed by cloud services, which were offered by 18 data centers.
