Using gasoline sparingly: 41% of total gasoline fills in Amman are JOD 10 (14 US$) or less
Tuesday, November 11, 2014

The Arab Advisors Group released the results of a detailed analysis of gasoline filling patterns in Jordan. The report is based on actual records of a gas station in an affluent area in Amman for the month of August 2014.

Arab Advisors analysis revealed high preference for Octane 90 over Octane 95 in Amman. Of the 17,630 gas fills that occurred in the gas station during August 2014, 73.6% were Octane 90. RON-90 had a 62.1% share of total monthly volume (Liters), and 57.4% of total monthly spending (JOD). The difference between the price of RON-95 and RON-90 is mainly due to taxation. The Jordanian government levies 18% special tax and 4% sales tax on Octane 90, while it levies 40% tax on Octane 95.

Arab Advisors Group's "An Analysis of Gasoline Filling Dynamics in Jordan" report provides in-depth analysis of filling patterns of both gasoline grades: RON-90 and RON-95. Monthly, weekly and daily consumption patterns are provided for both grades. The analysis includes volume (Liter) and spending (JOD) analysis. The report further provides a range analysis of both spending and volume patterns.

The report is based on actual records of a gas station in an affluent area in Amman during August 2014. Gas fills under study were recorded between 7:00 and 15:00 Amman time.
