More than a third of Internet users in Egypt have pay TV in their houses.

A new Arab Advisors Group’s survey provides detailedresults of pay TV usage patterns and habits amongst Internet users in Egypt. Thesurvey revealed that signal sharing is widespread. 

 

The report is based on themajor online survey of Arab Advisors Group: "Egypt Internet users ande-commerce survey 2010". The survey revealed that 37.2% of Internetusers in Egyptreported having pay TV in their houses.

Respondents were randomlytargeted by receiving an email shot in their inbox to ask them to fill in thesurvey, or through an online banner. Both methods took place in cooperationwith Egypt'smajor ISP, TE Data. The survey results encompass answers from 1,321respondents that passed rigorous quality control checks. Quality control wasconducted by Arab Advisors Group’s team and included checking email addressesfor authenticity and built-in question redundancy to filter out non-seriousrespondents. The survey was conducted on the general Internet population,including both genders and all age groups across Egypt. The online survey yields aconfidence level of 99% with a margin of error of less than 4%.
