A new groundbreaking major survey, “1948 Arabs (Arab Israelis) Media and Internet Use Survey - 2008” was conducted and released by the Arab Advisors Group on May 20, 2008. This survey report can be purchased from the Arab Advisors Group for US$ 3,500. Subscribers to Arab Advisors Group Strategic Research Services can order the report for US$ 2,500.

On language preference, 93.6% of Arab Israelis who watch TV reported a preference for the Arabic language when watching TV. 53.6% also watch TV in Hebrew. The survey also revealed that the five top Sat TV channels watched are Arabic language channels.

The 103-page report, which has 169 detailed exhibits, provides the results of a major comprehensive survey of the media, Internet, e-commerce and international calls usage patterns and habits among Arab Israelis (Palestinians who remained in Israel after the 1948 war). The survey field work was done in the following main areas of Arab Israelis: North Jaleel (Sakhneen, Al-Shaghour, Al Karmel (Osofia-Daliet Al Karmel)), South Jaleel (Shafa Amr, Nazareth, Tamra), South/Nakab (Rahat), mixed cities (Haifa, Tarsheeha Malout, Nazareth-Illit, Yafaa- Talaviv, Lod, Ramleh, Accre), North Triangle (Um El Fahem, Baqa EL Gharbieh), and South Triangle (Kafr Qasem, Tirra). The fieldwork of the survey was conducted between mid February and April, 2008. The Arab Advisors Group contracted New Brand –a local Arab-owned business in Nazareth- to do the field work.

On the Internet front, 59% of Arab Israeli homes have Internet at home. Of these homes with Internet, 89.8 use ADSL connections. 13.4% of Arab Israeli Internet users reported using e-commerce.
