The Chief Executive Officer of
Palestine Cellular Communications Co. Ltd. JAWWAL,
Ammar Aker has a BS and MS degrees in Accounting
from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, USA and
Kent State University, Ohio, USA respectively. His
experience in the field of finance and accounting
started at an investment company in California, USA
and a trading group in UAE. He also worked for the
Palestinian Development and Investment Company,
PADICO, the largest investment group in Palestine.
Prior to joining Jawwal, he worked as the Financial
Controller and Internal Audit Director at Palestine
Telecommunications Co. "Paltel", Jawwal’s mother
company, for almost a year. Mr. Aker commenced his
career at Jawwal in February 2000 as the Financial
Controller of the company and was then promoted to
be the first Chief Financial Officer. In October
2005, Mr. Aker was assigned by the Board of
Directors to become the CEO of Jawwal.
Mr. Aker is distinguished for his devotion and for
the outstanding and effective role he plays in order
to elevate Jawwal's status amongst other competing
cellular companies. He dedicates all efforts and the
company's capacity to increase the company’s market
share. Mr. Aker pursues an open-door policy with his
team, customers, and clients. Much further, Mr. Aker
orients the company's strategies, plans, and
policies to meet the customer's needs and exceed
their expectations. His policy falls into place with
Jawwal's core mission as a customer-centric company.
With the current situation of the Palestinian
market, Mr. Aker hand in hand with Jawwal's team and
Paltel Group's management rise to face up to the
challenges ensued by current political and economic
instabilities. Perhaps one of the major challenges
facing Jawwal since its early beginnings in 1999 is
the competition with four Israeli operators
illegally participating in the Palestinian market .
The impact of the Israeli occupation, however, does
not stop here. The occupation creates obstacles in
front of Jawwal's expansion strategies in order to
hinder Jawwal's network from developing. Despite
such obstacles, Jawwal managed to maintain
outstanding financial key performance indicators.
These accomplishments manifested themselves in the
increase of revenues and market share especially in
the past two years. |
